How often are new gigs added? — Asked by Anonymous

Whenever clients request them! Recently in the New York area there’s been something new just about every day!

Just starting to use the app. How do I earn Streetcred initially when every gig requires Streetcred to do the gig?

All the gigs in my area require streetcred. Are there gigs that do not require street cred? How can I get a gig that only pays $2.50 and only requires 10 creds? — Asked by Anonymous

It really depends on where you are located. Each region has different kinds of gigs with different requirements. Have you tried tapping on all the gigs to make sure that there aren’t ANY which don’t require a minimum street cred value in your account. If you are really stuck and can’t get started, e-mail community@gigwalk.com with the particulars of your issue and they can get you going. Hope that helps!

Can the gigs be done on a iPod touch (the new one with camera) and then be submitted hours later when I get to a wifi hotspot (i.e. My home). — Asked by Anonymous

Not unless your home is within 1 mile of the Gig! Usually the gig must be submitted at the site or nearby. This doesn’t mean you can’t look for open WiFi connections near the gig to help speed up upload times. Stores like Starbucks and Panera Bread have free WiFi which you can tap into if your gig happens to be nearby.

Boutique gigs

Boutique gigs are pretty quick and easy. You only need a few pictures outside, a few pictures of items you like, and a few picture of you in jeans or a skirt…. so it looks like this is not a gig for the men gigwalkers for the most part ;) I have found with boutiques they can have funky hours. In San Diego some are not open at all on Monday and most do not open early. If doing a boutique gig I would try for t-f after 1pm. Some open earlier but all seem to finally be open by 1pm. About half I have seen were closed on Mondays if they werent downtown. You dont need to announce yourself as you are really just taking a few pictures and trying on jeans. Have fun! :)

I just did two of my first hotel Gigs yesterday. I was taken aback because unlike the other gigs, these gigs ask that you take the photos with your phones camera not with in the Gigwalk app and that you upload them onto a site called Gogobot.com. I was able to write the 300+ word review the gig asked for for each hotel, however I cant not find for the life of me where I can upload photes as the gig instructions stated.

Has anyone had this issue and if so how did you go about solving it? — Asked by thechrisfaceproject

Street Gigs

These are fun, quick and easy :) Try your best to be as descriptive as possible. Include street signs showing addess’, or the one way signs if that is what they are looking for. Also, if you cant include something showing you are address requested put it in the text that you are at they exact location, include as much as you can about direction like west, east of, inside or outside of a gate, which side of a dead end you are at , etc…
